Smith Performance Sprayer (TIPS)

Smith Performance sprayer tips are offered here in two patterns: a brass flat fan tip and a black poly conical nozzle tip. Which one you want depends on what you are putting down.

A flat fan lays an even band with defined edges, so it is the pattern for covering an area uniformly and overlapping passes without heavy stripes. Brass holds an edge and a consistent pattern longer than plastic under regular use.

A conical nozzle throws a cone that covers more area per pass with a softer edge, which suits cleaners, rinses and applications where you want wetting rather than a precise band.

Tips are wear items and they are also chemical-matched. A worn tip opens up and puts down more material than you think you are applying, which quietly changes your coverage rate. And solvent-based products attack some plastics, so the poly tip is not the right choice for everything. Check what you are spraying against the tip material before you fill the tank, and flush the sprayer with the solvent the product manufacturer specifies at the end of the day.
