The QEP Stripper Blade is the cutting edge on a floor scraper, and it does the very first job on a coatings project. Before any grinder touches the slab you have to get the old material off it: failed epoxy, carpet and vinyl adhesive, tile, thinset, mastic and glued-down base. The scraper handles that step, and this 8 inch blade is the part that actually does the cutting.
Work the blade at a low angle and let the tool drive it under the material rather than chipping at it from above. A sharp edge lifts adhesive in sheets. A dull edge skates, polishes the residue into the surface and makes the grinding step longer than it needed to be.
This is a consumable, not a tool, and it is the single most under-ordered item on a demo day. Blades round off fast on hard adhesive and on any slab with exposed aggregate, so plan on more than one per job and keep spares in the truck.
