About the Dynamic Chip Brush
The Dynamic Chip Brush is a 4 inch disposable brush, and on a coatings job it does the detail work the roller cannot reach. Before the crew starts rolling or squeegeeing the open floor, someone cuts in the perimeter: the wall line, around bollards and posts, drain rings, door thresholds, expansion joints and anchor bolts. That is this brush.
Sequence matters. Cut in the edges first while the mixed material is still early in its pot life, then place the field and backroll into the wet cut line. If you cut in late, the perimeter has already started to set and you get a visible lap line where the two areas meet.
A 4 inch width covers ground faster than a narrow brush and still gets into corners. It is wide enough to run a clean wall line on a garage or shop floor without stopping every few feet to reload.
Chip brushes are throwaway items. Two-part coatings cure in the bristles and cleaning them with solvent costs more in labor and solvent than the brush is worth. Buy them by the handful, use one per mixed batch, and pitch it when the pot kicks.
