Norton Clipper Dimond Blade

A 4 inch Norton Clipper diamond blade, sized for hand angle grinders. On concrete coating work a small diamond blade is a repair and detail tool: chasing a crack open so a filler can actually get into it, cutting out a failed patch, trimming a control joint, or cutting through debris and fasteners in the way of a grind.

Crack chasing is the job it does most often. A hairline crack that gets filled without being opened is a crack that reappears through the finished coating, because the repair material never reached anything to bond to. Cutting the crack open gives the filler width, depth and clean sidewalls, and that is what makes a repair last past the first season.

Use it with dust capture wherever the work allows. Dry cutting concrete produces respirable silica, and a small blade running at speed generates a lot of it in a hurry. A shroud and vacuum, or wet cutting where the site permits water, are both far better than cutting dry in an occupied building.

Before mounting any blade, confirm that your grinder's rated speed and arbor match the blade, and that the guard is in place. Blade speed ratings exist for a reason and a 4 inch blade on the wrong tool is a genuine hazard, not a technicality.
