Good to know

  • Repair comes before the coating system, not during it. Fix the spalls and defects, let them cure, then prime, base coat, broadcast and topcoat.
  • Confirm intercoat compatibility before you build over a repaired area. A coating that bonds fine to concrete does not automatically bond to a cured polyurethane repair surface.
  • Freeze thaw damage is progressive. Filling the hole alone leaves a fresh absorbent face exposed, which is why a repair system that leaves a protective surface behind is the better answer on exterior work.
  • Mix ratio, coverage and cure schedule are on the technical data sheet, available on request at 817-676-6793.
  • Ships as a regulated liquid under ground shipping rules. Call 817-676-6793 for freight on quantity orders.

About the TCS Concrete Repair Kit

TCS Concrete Repair is a two component, low odor, liquid applied polyurethane alloy system for repairing concrete and masonry substrates. It is supplied as a 2 gallon kit. Where a patching compound just fills a hole, this rebuilds a surface and leaves a new one behind that protects the concrete underneath from weather, corrosion, erosion, freeze thaw spalling and chemical attack.

That protective function is what makes it worth the money on exterior and exposed work. Freeze thaw spalling is a cycle, not an event. Water gets into the surface, freezes, expands, breaks off a layer, and the fresh face it exposes absorbs more water than the old one did. A repair that only fills the damage leaves the cycle running. A liquid applied polyurethane alloy surface interrupts it.

In system position this is substrate repair, so it happens before the coating system, not as part of it. The normal sequence on a damaged slab is prep, then repair the spalls and defects, then prime or apply the vapor barrier if the slab needs one, then base coat, then broadcast, then topcoat. Confirm that whatever coating you are running is compatible with a polyurethane repair surface and knows how to bond to it before you build over the patched area.

Low odor matters here because repair work often happens in occupied buildings, loading docks and interior spaces where the rest of the operation is still running. Mix ratio, coverage, working time and cure schedule are on the technical data sheet, available on request. Call 817-676-6793 for the sheet or to talk through a specific repair before you order.

What it is used for

  • Repairing spalled concrete before coating
  • Loading dock and dock edge repair
  • Exterior slabs subject to freeze thaw damage
  • Masonry substrate repair
  • Rebuilding damaged surfaces in chemical exposure areas

Before you order

Work out how much you need

The most common ordering mistake in this category is buying by the gallon instead of by the floor. Coverage changes with porosity, profile and whether the coat is a base, a broadcast or a topcoat. Put the slab dimensions in and get a range rather than a single number.

How much material do I need?

Enter the slab. We will give you a range, because porosity and surface profile change real coverage.

Floor area
400 sq ft
Base coat
3.1 to 3.4 gal
Topcoat (1 pass)
3.1 to 3.4 gal
Flake
about 8 x 25 lb boxes

Base coat, flake broadcast to rejection, then a clear topcoat. Order roughly 10% over on a first job.

Questions about this product

What is TCS Concrete Repair used for?

TCS Concrete Repair is a two component, low odor, liquid applied polyurethane alloy system for repairing concrete and masonry substrates. The repaired surface protects the concrete from weather, corrosion, erosion, freeze thaw spalling and chemical attack, so it rebuilds and protects rather than just filling.

Can I coat over a TCS Concrete Repair patch?

Usually yes, but confirm compatibility first. TCS Concrete Repair leaves a cured polyurethane alloy surface, and a coating that bonds well to concrete does not automatically bond to that surface. Check the technical data sheets for both products, or call 817-676-6793 and we will confirm the pairing.

Will TCS Concrete Repair stop freeze thaw spalling?

TCS Concrete Repair is designed so the new surface protects the concrete from freeze thaw spalling along with weather, corrosion, erosion and chemical attack. That matters because spalling is a repeating cycle, and a repair that only fills the void leaves fresh absorbent concrete exposed to start it again.

How much does a 2 gallon TCS Concrete Repair kit cover?

Coverage for TCS Concrete Repair depends entirely on the depth and area of the damage being rebuilt, since a shallow surface repair spreads far further than a deep spall. The technical data sheet carries the rate. Call 817-676-6793 and describe the damage and we will help size the order.

Can TCS Concrete Repair be used indoors?

Yes. TCS Concrete Repair is a low odor system, which makes it suitable for occupied buildings, warehouses and interior spaces where operations continue during the work. Ventilate the area anyway and wear a respirator rated for organic vapor and particulates while mixing and placing material.
