Diamond tooling made to fit Husqvarna floor grinders, supplied in grit 25 with a choice of soft or medium bond and shark tooth or zigzag button segment shapes. Fitment is stated up front for a reason. Grinder tooling is only useful if it seats correctly on your plate, so verify the plate pattern and segment count on your Husqvarna machine before ordering.

Grit 25 is an aggressive number. This is opening-pass tooling, used to cut into the slab, knock down high spots, take out trowel marks and old surface, and create profile ahead of a coating. It is not a finishing step and it will leave scratch that a following step has to remove if you are polishing. On coating prep, the aggressive pass is often most of the work, because what you need is an open, uniformly profiled surface rather than a pretty one.

Bond selection is where crews lose money without realizing it. Soft bond belongs on hard concrete and hard bond belongs on soft concrete, which is backwards from intuition. The bond has to wear at a rate that keeps exposing fresh diamond. On a dense power-troweled slab, a soft bond keeps releasing diamond and keeps cutting. On soft or newly placed concrete, a soft bond simply erodes and you consume tooling for very little production. Soft and medium bonds are offered here, so pick against the slab you are standing on, not the one you ground last month.

Segment shape changes behavior. Shark tooth is the aggressive shape, biting hard and clearing material fast, which suits heavy removal and coating attack. Zigzag button spreads contact area, runs smoother and leaves a more even scratch pattern, which helps when the next step has to clean up after this one.
